From Assessment Centres to 7 months on the BTC graduate scheme

Seven Months ago Capgemini’s Business Technology Consulting graduate scheme took on a fresh faced graduate from Warwick who wanted to make a big impression with his career. That was me, and my experience so far has been genuinely positive and rewarding.

My Capgemini experience has been diverse; my first role involved collaborating within a small team to come up with a new way of visualising data. From there I managed Requirements for one of our strategic projects and provided Business Intelligence to a large postal service operator to enable them to make smarter decisions.

These roles were punctuated by Capgemini’s Corporate Social Responsibility Raleigh leadership weekend and Capgemini’s glamorous Christmas Party – both of which served as great networking opportunities and eye-opening experiences. Currently I’m performing system testing in Wales, with real responsibilities on a client site.

No summary of my time with Capgemini would be complete without mentioning the incredible training provided at the company’s University in Les Fontaines, Paris. I was there last week and discovered new ways of working and helping clients that I never would have expected.

Capgemini is different, the assessment centre is a positive experience, the people are human and the company understands the concept of work-life balance. Ultimately this comes down to Capgemini’s collaborative way of working and given my experience, I’m really positive about my future career with the company.
