Competition Rules

The Competition Rules provide complete information on the competition schedule, team, student requirements, entry requirements, judging, prizes, and general conditions.

Student Terms and Conditions for taking part.
By registering to become a Business Champion you agree to the terms of the competition below:

  1. You must be a current student at a UK university studying on a full or part time degree course for the duration of the competition
  2. You must be part of a team of at least 2 and no more than 4.
  3. Each member of the Business Champion team must register online through the official website www.brightfutures.co.uk/businesschampions    Each team has to be from the same University i.e. not multi-university teams, and ideally should be from the same year group but this is not an absolute.
  4. Once your submission has been approved if a member of the team drops out you cannot substitute them for someone else.
  5. There will be no extension on the deadlines.
  6. All monies made must be returned to Bright Futures by the allotted date.
  7. The individual prizes offered will be given at the end of each stage of each presentation event and are not transferable or exchangeable. Every prize winner is required to attend.
  8. The organisers will not be liable for any circumstances beyond their control that prevent a prize from being taken up by a recipient.
  9. No correspondence will be entered into with the Judges. The decision of the Judges shall be final and unchallengeable and in their absolute discretion they may declare the competition or a category void should they consider that there are no entries       reaching the required standard, whereupon they can award prizes or not, as they think fit.
  10. Regional and National finalists will be responsible for organising their own [cost effective] transport to the University and National judging rounds which will be reimbursed.
  11. Unless the entrant specifically requests the contrary Bright Futures will hold their personal data.  This information will be used by Bright Futures to provide entrants with information about careers and suitable graduate programme details.
  12. By entering the Bright Futures Business Champions competition entrants are agreeing to abide by these rules, and any conditions set out in the competition instructions.
  13. The Competition commences on 1st October 2011 and ends on 16th March 2012. The Organisers freely reserve the right to cancel the competition for a good reason or to alter the dates of the competition for any reason or to alter the way the competition is conducted after publishing this alteration appropriately to the best of their knowledge.
  14. Emailed, posted or hand-written submissions will not be accepted. All applications must be made through the Bright Futures website.
  15. For any employments opportunities offered, these will be subject to further stages of the recruitment process.  If academics do not meet PwC’s standard recruitment requirements for the mainstream process, their application will be transferred via the inspired talent route.
  16. Places on PwC schemes will be in a business area and location of PwC’s choice, although PwC will endeavour to meet any preferences.
