THE INSTITUTE OF DIRECT AND DIGITAL MARKETING (IDM)
The IDM is Europe’s leading body for the professional development and training of marketers working in direct and digital marketing. It is the internationally respected awarding body for professional qualifications in the discipline and provides a comprehensive range of high quality training, development, education and membership services.
There is an ever-increasing need for bright, talented graduates as the direct and digital industry continues to grow. Roles in this dynamic and fast-changing sector are wide-ranging, and the profession offers great prospects for a varied, challenging and rewarding career.
Each year the IDM runs a week-long residential summer school to provide a stepping stone to jobs in direct, data and digital marketing. It’s open to graduates of all disciplines and is free to attend. All of the 27 graduates who attended the 2011 summer school got jobs at various digital/marketing agencies and client companies across the profession within 2 months.
Marketers need to be good communicators so strong interpersonal skills are important.
Direct and digital marketing requires a mix of creative and analytical skills.
