v is a small organisation with a big task: to inspire a new generation of young volunteers.

To do this, they work with over 500 voluntary sector organisations and over 150 private sector partners to create innovative youth volunteering opportunities. V make sure that volunteering opportunities reflect your passions, interests and concerns and makes a genuine difference to you and your communities.

The vinspired awards scheme has been designed to boost your CV by showing potential employers, universities and others, clear evidence of what you’ve achieved as a volunteer. It has already won backing from high-profile business leaders, such as Martha Lane Fox, Karren Brady and Dragon’s Den star James Caan:

“I am thrilled to be part of the vinspired awards and endorse the scheme. There is a real need for employers to understand the full extent of skills young people gain through volunteering experiences.
"In these financially challenging times it has never been more important for young job seekers to stand out and be noticed by employers and it is equally important for businesses to ensure they recognise the motivation, commitment and desire volunteers have for self improvement, which are all key attributes required in candidates by any successful business.”

The vinspired awards recognise the time you commit, the skills you develop and the difference you make through your volunteering. The great news is, if you are on the committee of one of our societies you are already totting up those hours, which is why Bright Futures have become a recognised validator of the vinspired awards!

Any volunteer aged 16-25 in England can apply for one of two vinspired awards simply by keeping a record of their volunteering online:

  • vfifty, gained from completing 50 hours of volunteering
  • vimpact achieved by doing a further 100 hours volunteering
